PROLEGOMENA
"How to negotiate one's
Destiny..." The
title is meant to be tempting for any potential reader
who has, buried inside him (or her), a last scrap of
Hope. Who dares expect that future still holds some
gentleness for him (her).
I am not writing for those who
have everything... These impudent bipeds think that
they will from now on continually get everything.
Unfortunately, Life is nothing of the sort, it is
made of ups and downs, and I shall prove
it to you.
A good Negotiator of Destiny is humble.
He (she) bows down during the
downs, keeps his (her) head down, adopts a low
profile until the storm dies down. It is the story of
the oak and the reed forever starting again.
French Emperor Napoléon was an oak, he was
uprooted, but Talleyrand, his minister of Foreign Affairs, was a thinking reed, and lived
until a great age (this is French History...)
But during the ups, for
there are auspicious times in life, one must not miss
one's opportunity! It is necessary to be
